When Adele Robinson and her
then partner Alan Boyce put Company Haircutters on the map in
the mid-1980's, it was the beginning of a huge accomplishment
for the Belfast based salon.
The duo created a hothouse of emerging talent: photographers,
make-up artists, hairstylists, models and artists congregated
in the minimalist salon to swop ideas, gossip and plan photo
shoots and fashion shows. The results of the shoots was amazing
- and won this small, regional salon a series of prestigious
national photographic awards including the Miss Hair & Beauty
award for 2 years running and also the Vogue Award for
2 years.
Since the salon was launched in 1987 it has attracted the best
of the city's hair talent, many of whom have gone on to establish
their own state of the art hair salons - Paul Stafford, Patrick
Mulholland, Mark Rice - Company Haircutters has been more than
just a hair salon - it has been a finishing school for the province's
current crop of talent.
Adele Robinson continues to head up a talented team at
Company Haircutters, and is a recipient of the Northern Ireland
Hairdresser of the Year Award at the UK Hairdressing Awards
in 1997-1998. Her photographic collections - shot with Belfast
based Jim Crone - are published internationally and continue
to receive accolades from style editors everywhere. |
