Despite the charming cottage style of her Co. Down home Adele
Robinson of Company Haircutters denies that she is the homey
type, but finding the right artefacts for her home has taken
time.
"It takes a while to get a feel for a house. There
is no real theme. I love colour and if something really catches
my eye I'll buy it."
The styling talents of Adele, reigning Northern Ireland Hairdresser
of the Year, are in hot demand so she doesn't get a lot of free
time to spend at home but when she does she takes time out in
her living room. "This is where I crash out on the sofa
and watch a video or listen to music."
Her most treasured possessions are her paintings. 'Eyes' is
by local painter to the stars; Terry Bradley, "I bought
two 'Bradleys' before he became famous - so they were a great
bargain and have become a great investment." The second
painting displayed in this room is a much loved birthday gift,
a portrait drawn in charcoal and crayon of Adele "by one
of my dearest friends Michael 'Miko' Brolly."
The best bargain she has found for her room is her paper flowers.
"I love flowers so I get them weekly from La Paz. They
know what I like and do really good floral displays to suit
the room."
But is money was no object there is no doubt what she would
splash out on. "If I won the Lottery I would love a low
maintenance Japanese garden and maybe a gardener to look after
it or a live-in cook/cleaner
" wouldn't we all? |
